Beauty Buzz

Hello, Hello!  Ugh, Do you all feel as yuck as I do this time of year?  I've had a cold for what feels like forever now and my work out schedule has been almost non-existent. I need to get back on track. It's high time for a bit of pampering this week to help beat the winter blues. Here's the run down on the shared shots.

1. I have a little museum date with a boy on Saturday afternoon and am also meeting up with various friends over the weekend. I want to buy a new gloss with a hint of pink to fluff up my lips before then. I may try this plumping Buxom in peach sorbet. I'm loving the look of that model's lips. Lucky lady.
2. I also have a trim and a highlight tomorrow. I'm showing the stylist Sienna's layered locks and color.
3. Ahh, got to love the top knot, both messy and chic versions work for me. My assistant whipped my hair up in about two seconds last week.. Now I need to figure out how to perfect it like she did. I always prefer my hair when someone else style's it.
4. What I wouldn't do for a spot like these to primp and prime in the a.m. On my wish list? A vanity with a gorgeous over sized mirror above it.

Inspired - Ruthie Sommers

There's no doubt that Ruthie Sommers is one of my favorite designers, so when fresh, new images of her work pop up in a magazine I'm a happy girl. Here's a recent article in Veranda magazine of Ruthie's advice on being a decorator/interior designer. Her design details are feminine, unexpected, colorful and perfectly executed!

Designer Digs - Elie Saab

I love catching a sneak peek inside of designer's homes. They usually don't disappoint. I was viewing Elie Saab's Spring couture collection and had remembered his beautiful homes ...they are as stunning as his elegant fashions. So here's a look into the Lebanese born, Parisian designer's Parisian and Lebanon digs.. they both mix elegant with masculine, old with new.  The interplay of modern and classical architectural details are gorgeous. Both interiors were designed by Chakib Richani.

ONE WORD

Dreaming
of where I'd like to be right now.........{can you guess in which moment in time?}

Most of you have probably heard of or love {like I do} the work of photographer extraordinaire Slim Aarons. He is best known for capturing beautiful people enjoying the "good life". His use of light, attention to detail and architectural backdrops are stunning. His three books listed below are on my wish list! I'm always looking to build my design library!

BEDAZZLED

'Tis the season - I always tell my clients, family + friends that every home { + everybody for that matter} should embrace a touch of glamour....it's irrelevant if you reside in a bungalow on the prairie's of Kansas, a rustic farmhouse in the hills of Vermont or a sky high penthouse overlooking NYC, a bit of sparkle is good for the soul!!

Crystal, mirror, mother of pearl, silver, gold, + lucite all add glamour

I adore chunky jewelry {have for years} if you don't own a piece, treat yourself; you'll feel special each time you slip it on. The funkier, the better, in my book. {rings are a great place to start}

Perfect in the powder room - Mother of Pearl tile - Daltile

Hobknob vases, leave empty or fill with holiday greens - Mothology
