Love the look!

I am taking tennis lessons this summer. I had my first lesson last night and I loved it! I've always loved playing sports but never learned to actually "play" tennis. I'm looking forward to this new venture in life. This is a sport you can enjoy for the rest of your life. 

Today I am sharing a typical tennis look, a little preppy, a little sporty. I think I need that bag and racquet!! I also paired a simple fitted athletic tank from Lulu lemon with my skirt. A tank would also complete this look.

1. + 2. Emerson's bedroom is coming along nicely!! Taking a new print I purchased for her to have framed today!
3. I CAN-not spend lots of money anymore on entry rugs. I have tried in the past but they all get destroyed by the winter weather. I have a no shoe policy for my kids in the house. I think Matty is catching on. I found this durable version at Marshalls!
4. The July - August version of Veranda is beautiful. I enjoyed a nice glass of rose while reading it last Friday night! PS. I am loving my honed Carrara counter tops. A bit high maintenance but lovely nonetheless. 
5. + 6. Matt's family owns great season tickets for the Red Sox. So we headed to a game last week. (Thanks - Vinny + Eva)  I love Fenway park on a warm summer night. 

We stopped by Citizen Public house on the way home for some oysters and a drink! It was a hit! (no pun intended). The cocktails were delish and the decor was moody and comfortable.

Color me happy!

Hello Monday!! Everything seems a little brighter during the summer doesn't it??

I've decided to kick off this week on a cheery note...I thought this would keep the fun of the weekend going a bit longer. I've long been a fan of Anna Spiro's work. The Australian (Brisbane) designer has a keen sense of color and a fabulous eye. No one perfects blue and white quite like Anna.

Shelter Loves...

TGIF!! You've got to love Fridays! Today I've put together some of my recent favorites!! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

1. Have you guessed yet that this is my favorite time of year? I love the look of an all white dress or outfit. This pleated dress is on sale and is adorable. I have a similar one in coral!
2. These bags are fab! I need one...I love amazing European finds....The Brits along with the French do fashion SO well. Tote from Rae Feather.
3. Since my divorce I have wanted to buy myself a sweet little ring, this is a contender. As is one from Cartier.
4. I have to use this Cole and Sons wallpaper on a project. It reminds me of the work of Japanese artist Hokusai. The MFA is currently running a Hokusai exhibit. I am going to take my daughter. She studied his work in camp this week. I love the idea of introducing art and culture from around the world to my children. 
5.+ 7. My adorable friend Kristin got a new bike this week. It's a bright yellow cruiser. I've always wanted one of these retro numbers. She may have inspired me to make the splurge...I am torn between watermelon and aqua!!  I like the lines of the Nadine one but the price tag of the Schwinn.
6. Yes, please on this bathroom and tile!!
8. This makes so much sense to me lately. #celebrate diversity!!

Cottage Love - #26

Hello, hello...It's about time I shared a cottage love post with y'all and it's my favorite kind, a beach cottage!! 

My little home is almost finished! Eek. The kitchen is pretty much done and my new fridge was delivered yesterday. (I am dreading moving the old fridge to the basement)...now more on this goodie!

ooooowww this sweet beach cottage is located in Malibu, I love Southern California.
Kelly Sawyer Patricof spends weekends here with her young family. Kelly is not only co-president of Baby2Baby (read more about this amazing non-profit here) but she also is the creative director of Satine, a women's fashion boutique. Insta-peek

Hello July + Good Morning! I wasn't anticipating taking so many "blogging" days off but last week and my mini-vaca sort of came and went so quickly! I actually can't believe it's over and Monday already!! I never ended up with much time to blog.

This week I am beginning a new weekly blog post that will include a sneak peek at what's happening in my life through the eyes of my Instagram account. I try to capture my work days and the little special details of my life through photos and instagram! I thought I would kick off this week with my new post idea. Each post may contain a couple or a bunch of images depending on what the previous week looked like!!

I think I have mentioned, after several bouts of skin cancer on my face, that I do my best to shield my face from the damaging rays of the sun. I let my body get sun and the strangest thing is I still get pretty tan with sunblock on but I am getting white dots on my skin from the sun??!!  Here is a list of the EWG's recommended safest sunscreens.

Summer is my favorite time of year and the beach is my favorite place so there is no way to escape the sun 100%..Plus we all need a little vitamin D. I recently ordered Estee Lauder's bronze goddess. It delivers the perfect amount of a sunny glow to my face. I use it with a large brush.

On the first day of our Cape Cod trip, Matty and I went to the beach in Wellfleet. Cape Cod's natural seashore is stunning and protected. Read more about the area here. 

I'm a huge fan of oysters. Small Wellfleet oysters are my favorite. We enjoyed a dozen of these along with an oyster shot at the Beachcomber bar after our beachside afternoon.

We spent last Wednesday exploring Provincetown. I popped into John Derian to check out his array of decoupage creations. I loved the plates and paper weights.

The vintage sign outside of the Lobster Pot is a favorite. Stop here for a number of seafood options!

July 3rd is a bigger celebration than the 4th in my beachside community. Everyone lines the seven miles of ocean front for an array of private fireworks shows. This year's fireworks were amazing! It is my favorite night of the year! I was sure to break out my stars and stripes (shirt) for the occasion. This star jacket is no longer available but you can never go wrong with a classic denim jacket. Find a similar style sans the stars here.
